How Do You Get Toddlers To Eat Vegetables?

Kody would only eat peas and carrots and that’s it out of all the vegetables. How do you get toddlers to eat vegetables? I was about to learn …

I mashed swede into the carrots and he knew no difference and I mixed the peas and sweetcorn together and although he would mostly pick out the sweetcorn he did eat some.

He wont eat much mash potato but found he will eat roast or jackets. He also prefers new potatoes.

He ate the pizza he made himself and we managed to get veggies onto it.

I asked my mummy friends for some extra tips;

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Sarah; Hide it under the cheese on home made pizza or tell them it’s cheese

Lisa; Let him grow his own I did it with mine worked a treat

Bright Ideas; Try them at least 24 times before giving up. My boy eats every fruit and veg going now and he was a fussy toddler

Emma; Mix into food or make a smilie face and make the meal look fun

Sarah; Use food colouring to change the colour

Megan; Hide it in mash? Gravy? Tell them it’s chocolate in disguise

Louise; Food play is great to get little ones to eat veg start with painting with veg, cut up peppers carrots, anything you like. Just to get them used to handling them, then cold cooking,  making faces out of different salad and veg, particularly good for fussy eaters and food phobic kids.

Julie; Mix into food such as spag bol or make a soup. Also I make carrot “chips” and brocolli “trees”

Kayle; Just keep trying! My 4 year old ate nothing but his veg for tea and I honestly cant remember the last time he ate it!

Sarah; Blend them to puree and hide them in sauce. Don’t worry about it they’re only veggies! They’ll eat them one day

Dawn;  I don’t know the answer – my duo love veg and think it might be because we did baby led weaning. Lots of chunky veg on highchair tray and let them play n decide what they are going to eat. My dad just got an allotment and they think everything on their plates is from grandads allotment – even though it is really from supermarket. Its also important to lead by example – if they are eating veg – you should too

Sallie; I gave Harvey fruit and veg from a young age. When I weaned him I made fruit/veg purees and he ate them, so he’s just always ate them. Never had a problem getting him to eat fruit/veg. I think if you introduce them early you have a better chance of them eating them when they’re older

Tiffany; Annie’s brill with veg, eats it first with every meal! But I try make it fun, make funny faces out of it and even let her “help” me make meals – 90% of the time it’s her passing me things from the fridge or along the worktops then standing and watching me make it but lets her feel involved

Charlotte; This will make u laugh my two like peas but when Christmas came round obviously Brussels sprouts r on the menu I called em big peas to the kids and my son turned round and said why is it wrinkly

Manchester Mind; Or by making ‘build your own’ pizzas with lots of different veggies for them to choose to pile on top of theirs.
