The girl you’re looking at has a smile on her face; to you she seems happy, carefree and never looks down, saddened or lonely.
But that’s just a front she is putting on, she’s dying inside, she is struggling to take a day at a time. You see a duck on the water so graceful and swimming but when you look under the waters it’s fighting to swim, but you don’t see that, you just see its grace of looking so calm when in reality the water is choppy.
That girl holds it together for friends to lean on, she doesn’t want them to struggle, so she’s there confidant, she sits, she listens and dry’s their eyes for them, but forgets about her own tears.
But what about the girl who can’t get out her words? She needs the help but what does she do? she bottles it up and hides from the world, she has everything you would think of, a husband and kids, she looks popular and has so many friends, but how can she burden them with what’s in her head? She’s the rock, the one they cling too, but this rock is crumbling and stumbling so much.
If she could shout, scream and throw things then maybe she would, but instead she bottles it all in her head, she’s crying inside and so scared not to fall, but she knows it’s all spiralling out of control.
So next time you see her smiling at you, look in her eyes and see the pain trying to come through, ask her if she needs a shoulder to lean as maybe, just maybe she’ll one day take it, don’t just ask once, keep asking again.
