There is lots of advice on what mum’s should pack to take into hospital, but with your due date looming there’s plenty of things your partner will need. Your partner will more than likely be in for a long wait so why not be prepared?

Dads hospital bag does not need to be complicated, but planning ahead can save you worrying and give him more time to spend with you and your new baby, rather than having to return home for something he needs.

Dads Hospital Bag List

  • Toothpaste and toothbrush
  • Camera/Video recorder
  • Change ( useful for car park/phone box and vending machines)
  • Change of clothes
  • Painkillers
  • Snacks and drinks
  • Something to read
  • Phone charger
  • A pillow (not all hospitals provide a pillow)
  • Hand held fan
  • List of phone numbers
  • Change of clothes

Dad’s often get left out in the run up to labour so ensuring they have everything they need will help pass the time.

this is a really good idea. my oh had a bag prepared for hospital and he said he wouldnt have managed with out it.so its a must need for the dads to be x

  5. My oh bought his phone and headphones and we watched a lot of BBC iPlayer. having Russel Howard, Eastenders and Family Guy on made it feel a bit more like normal whilst I was dilating (I went for drug free labour and it helped distract from the pain). And yeah bring plenty of food in with you, all he did was moan he was hungry whilst I’m in agony, I could have done with a food parcel to shut him up lol!!
