In the UK the average age to have your first baby is currently standing at around 29.7 years
I was 19 when I gave birth to my 1st child. I wonder how many of us fit into this 29.7 year category. I do not believe there is a right or wrong age to have your first child.

I was 2 months off 30! But that was circumstances, nothing else. Don’t believe there is any right or wrong time, except just not really really young. And that is only because I believe we are all entitled to have our youth, and to have fun during the teen years, and live a little. As always, this is a personal opinion, and I feel that the age at which we have our children is normally a personal choice.

I had just turned 21 when I had my first baby, 23 when I had my 2nd, and 29 when I had my third. The right age to start having babies is different from person to person, but I am so glad I started my family when I did!

i am 21, i had my daughter 2 months after my 21st birthday. i dont agree or disagree when the right age to have a child. its up to the individual to make that decision. yes it is hard, being a mum and keeping up with my education but being a mum is worth the scraffices you make x

i had my first baby at 22, i felt like i was ready ( well as ready as you can be lol) and now i cant wait to have more little brothers or sisters for him
there is no right age for a child it depends on the person i personally could get rid of a baby ive said it to my partner since we met, my son wasnt planned but it has been the best thing to happen to me 
i dont feel like im missing out on anything having him im quite happy staying in with him and spending all my free time with him instead of out wasting all my money on drinking and things i didnt really need x

I technically had my first child at 18 , as i was 18 when i lost my daughter last august, but im due on the 24th with our rainbow baby and i am now 19

i was 2 months of my 18th birthday with my first and i was 23 with my second i belive in having babies at a young age then living your life when you are older, where i know a lot of ppl believe in living their lives at a young age then having children at an older age, but to be honest any age will do as long as the child is loved

I had my son when I was 18 years old. It was hard but so rewarding and I would do anything for my son. I love him and his dad (my OH) more than anything and I know we will make things work for us. We have it hard (not living together with his dad) but soon we will have our own place and be able to be a proper family.
I wasn’t ready financially for my son but I definitely was emotionally and he is honestly the best thing that ever appened to me!!
I seem to be at the opposite end of the age spectrum from everyone else. I was 43 when I had my first baby. I would have loved to have been younger when I had my son but it didn’t work out that way, between being with the wrong partner initially and fertility issues. The benefit of being a bit older is that you don’t miss going out with your friends every weekend, you’ve moved on from that stage in your life by that point anyway.

I don’t think there’s a right or wrong age to have a baby it all depends on maturity and whether they’re emotionally and financially ready for a baby.

I was 26 when fell pregnant with my little boy and 27 when had him. Its different for everyone at what age to have a baby, it depends on circumstance etc. I wasnt in the right relationship until I met my oh and thats when I felt ready to have my lo.

.. i dont think there is a set age to have a baby as long as you can cope and look after lo then its fine.. i had moved out while preg got falt with ex and had everything settled down before she was born.. now me and my oh are trying for another

i had my 1st age 20 and my 2nd at age 25. the urge to have another is always there but my oh is a lot older (13 years) so i thoink it would be unfare, i alkso have 3 step kids and they too are also fantastic, i even have a step-grandson….whop is beautiful and i wish we saw more of him…..we miss them so much as they live a while away. also, with the age gap i want to have some time to us!!! x x

i dont think theres a age on having children at all. my mum is 43 and wanted a other child but cant as her eggs are no good, but i dont think shes too old to have a child, if women are willing to look after and care and love that child then whats age matter. xx

5years on i still have resentment towards him just for that comment, not to mention everything else i was put through while pregnant.

I had my first when I was 16 (was 15 when I became pregnant). She wasn’t planned but I wouldn’t change anything! Before that we had planned to start trying when I was 17, so everything just happened a bit earlier. Had my second and third at 19 and 21. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong age to have children. It depends when you want/feel ready for them. I am glad to have mine early in my life so that I will still be fairly young as they grow up, but I don’t feel I lost out at all growing up with my mum who gave birth to me at 42 either.
I was 18 when i got pregnant with my first, 19 when i delivered, and 22 when i got pregnant with my second and 23 when i had him. I honestly dont think it matters! Obviously it matters to an extent but as long as you give your all and be the best mum you can whatever age – no-one has reason to judge you

I was 21 and nowhere near ready. I had been out of hospital for just a few months.
But my son is now nearly 12 and amazing. Ive since had a daughter two years after him, a son two years after her, another son three years after him and my last son is two. Its only with my last son that I felt ready as such and have enjoyed it more this time round. I have absolutely no regret and would change nothing.
Every age has advantages and disadvantages.
